Do you know what teens know? Well, of this article that I read it seems that they don't know that much. The question was... Do you know when Christopher Columbus sailed the blue ocean? This was a report released on February 26, found out that American teens don't know that. They tested 1,200 17 year old on they knowledge of history and literature. Each student was given 33 multiple-choice questions . The students did poorly. They earned a D grade. Lynne Munson said, "A high school graduate who lacks even the most basic grasp of America's story...is a child whose future has been limited by an incomplete education," she says. I think that a person who quits school or doesn't pay attention in class just because they think it is cool needs help. The point of coming to school is to Learn so you can have a better future and a good paying job so you can put food on the table for your family when you grow up.
This is important because teens need to know our history. This is really a big problem. I mean come on, I don't think that a fifth grader knows more than a high schooler. They really have to do something because they are going to be our future. Do you plan to have a future like you said and how are you going to do it?
