What I Saw on CNN Student News

I saw this section on CNN today and I wanted to tell you about it because I think it is so cool. On off the Beaten Path it was talking about a Choowawa that had brought in 4 squirrels in to her house and the owner thought that her dog was going to  kill the squirrels but it was quite the opposite.The 3 year old dog that brought in the squirrels to take care of them because she (the dog) found them out on a tree and they were homeless and she apperently wanted to take care of the squirrels and she has been taking care of the squirrels for about two weeks.

The 6 Traits of Writing

The six traits of writing are types of sentences. First I’m going to tell you about Simulating Ideas. Simulating Ideas is looking over your whole paper and seeing what you need to take out of your paper and what you need keep in your paper. The next thing I’m going to tell you about is Logical Organization. Logical Organization is looking at your sentences and seeing if you put your sentences in place if you did, then you go to your next subject which is personal voice. Personal Voice is when you check you paper for descriptive words. Also I’m going to tell you about three more traits of writing and one of them is smooth sentences. Smooth sentences is explaining that the sentences are perfect and there aren’t any words misspelled. The next trait I’m going to tell you about is correct accurate copy. Accurate Copy is about copying the paper you wrote perfectly such as good handwriting, good word choice, and good smoothness in the sentence.

South Dakota was admitted as a state on November 2, 1889. There are 775,933 square miles in South Dakota. The Capitol of South Dakota is Pierre. South Dakota’s state bird is Ring Necked Pheasant. The state flower is the American Pasque. Also South Dakota’s nickname is The Mount Rushmore state. South Dakota’s state Gemstone is Fairburn Agate. A real big thing you can know about South Dakota is it is the second leading produce in gold. The states Tree is the Black Hills Spruce. Another thing to know about South Dakota is that its state fish is the walleye.  There are also 407 cities in South Dakota. Right now it is allergy season in South Dakota. That means the honey bees ( South Dakota’s state insect) are going crazy right at this moment in South Dakota.
