Cole

I know school can be hard sometimes. You seem like a very sweet and smart girl. Just keep working hard! Try not to worry about other people. If they are making fun of you, that means they probably have something they are afraid of too. Just try to focus on your dreams and work hard to achieve them!

Mrs. Meeler

Hi Nia --

Cole is right. School can be hard and other people can be mean sometimes. But do not let anyone discourage you from achieving your goals. I know if you work hard, you will pass 5th grade. When others are mean to us and make fun of us, it definately hurts and is embarassing. Just remember to always do your best and you will have nothing to be ashamed of. Lead by example and show your classmates how "true" friends help and encourage each other!

Mrs. Henning

Hey, Naira
I really liked the story about Mrs.Parks, too. She did so much to help other people even when it was very difficult. And there are times when we have to do things that are very difficult, but when we try our best we should always be proud of ourselves. Other people can be very hurtful but we have to keep on doing our best and know that even though they may hurt us they are being very rude. We are the ones trying hard and we have nothing to be ashamed of. Stick with your good friends and stay away from the hurtful people.

Mr. Harris

Naira I am glad that you enjoyed the story "Dear Mrs. Parks." However, I am surprised that you feel you are not doing well in school. I believe that you have the ability to be a genius if you put the effort into it. School is a very difficult path that everyone must follow. Some subjects may come to you easier than other subjects. Please do not be discouraged by the fact that you may or may not be struggling in a class. If you gave up on everything that seemed difficult, you would never have accomplished tying your shoes, riding a bike, or even typing this blog. You are more than capable of doing anything you put your mind to. Do not let others stop you from achieving your goals and keep trying! I am very proud of your hard work, don't give up!

Anne Davis

Hi Niara,

You show a lot of honesty and courage in this post. It lets me know that you can overcome any hurtful comments that people might make. You just keep working hard, try your best, and let your teacher know what you do not understand. There is no limit to what you can accomplish if you give it your personal best! I know you can do it and I plan to follow your blog and continue reading your writing. Mrs. Meeler gives great advice when she says lead by example and show your classmates how "true" friends help and encourage each other! That's the spirit at your school!

Ms. Rikard

Niara,
The story about Mrs. Parks sounds extremely interesting! I think I would be interested in reading that as well! Fifth grade is certainly a tough year and you might make a few bad grades at times. However, you are very lucky to be in such a wonderful school where the most amazing teachers are there to help you. Keep doing your best and I bet you are going to achieve great things. Success isn't always easy, but by looking at your blog, you are off to a great start!

Mrs. Ross

Niara,
Always believe in yourself and never give up. When I was in the fifth grade I didn't make very good grades either. I didn't want to talk about my grades with other people when report cards came out becaue I was embarrassed. However, I began to really try and I asked for a lot of help and now I'm an assistant principal at the best elementary school around!!! People who love you and who really care about you are willing to help. Just ask, you'll be surprised!!
