Free At Last!

Dear Kim,

You will never belive what i did! I ran away! I am going to New York. I am glad that i am going there. It will be much better then being a slave.We always have to do things that we don't want to do. Anyway, I'm sure you want to know how i did it. Well, one day i woke up and my mother told me to help her pack important things because we are going to run away. I started screaming that we are going to be free. My mom told me to stop screamimg because we might get caught trying to escape. We had to wait until my brothers and my dad goy home from  picking cotton. When they did finallty did get home we packed even more thing slike chicken, biscuts,water, plates and cups that my mom made her self. We went to Harriet Tubman's house.She is the one who leeds us everywhere.When we got to her house we just sat there in the yard.She came out and then she said that we should get going.I was scared at first.I didn't know what i would have to do.After we left her yard we went on this trail that our owners usally walk on.I was defenetlly scared then. I thought that our owners would come on the trail and see us. I told my mom that i was getting hungry. We sat down and started to eat.The night came near. We had to lay down and go to sleep.In the morning we got up extra early so we could get there faster. Harriet Tubman said that we should be there in 2 hours. I was glad that we would be there in  litle while, but i thought that it would be much longer.At least i am out of slavery.All i have to say now is to get ready for us to come and see you because you are the only one that we know in New York.See you there!

This post is about figurative language. Have you ever heard someone use figurative language? I have and at first  i thought it was weird.Then I learned thaat it was just a more intresting way to speak. The first thing that I learned about figurative language is a Metaphor. A Metaphor is just comparing two things, but you use the same kind of an object. For example, His shirt is as dirty as a pig rolling around in the mud. That is how tou would use a Metaphor in a sentence. If you want to use it in place of another person place or thing, then you would say The comforting bed instead of saying The soft bed. Have you ever used a Hyperbloe before?  It is so fun to use. You usally use it when you want to exagerate something with humor. Ex. A blood red nail polish. That is a big exageration because usally nail polish isn't that red. If you want to use a person as a exageration then you would say it like this- She is as tall as a volcano. You would want to always use it in a nice way thoe so you don't hurt anyone's feelings. that would be as bad as a dog and a cat fighting. See I just used it again.
