This post is about figurative language. Figurative language has eight different term but I'm only gone to tell you about two to three. Well the first one I'm gone to tell you is idiom. Idiom is a language peculiar to a group of people. Like an example she sing on the top of her lungs. Do you have another example tell me. The next one is onomatopoeia. Onomatopoeia is naming a thing or an action by the sound it associated that it explain. So do you know any more figurative language?
I find idiom fascinating. Some of my favorites are:
- six to one, half a dozen to the other
- I didn't just fall off of the turnip truck
- Who's this we, do you have a mouse in your pocket (that is a favorite one of my Dad,s)
Do you have a favorite idiom? And can you give an example of onomatopoeia?
