Martin Luther King, Jr. was and still is a very important man in history. He changed African Americans lives. King, during the 1900s, was like a hero to African Americans. Not only because he fought with them for their rights. It was because he didn’t give up. King continued his way with trying to help African Americans. Fortunately, he made it and gave African Americans their rights. He must’ve worked very hard. On April 4, 1968, Martin Luther King, Jr. was shot! He was shot while standing on a balcony of the Lorraine Motel. After his death, Coretta Scott King, King’s wife, carried on aspects of his work until her death on 2006.Coretta even wrote a book talking about her life with King. Today we remember Martin Luther King, Jr. by the speech he gave before his death. We also remember him by celebrating his birthday every year which is on the month of January. I’m sure that no one will forget him with what he did to history. Especially African Americans. They will never forget him. Martin Luther King, Jr. must have had a great heart, because trying to give African Americans their rights was very hard in those days. Well, that’s what I’ve heard, but I do believe that is true.
Hi Graciela,
I enjoyed reading your post! You mentioned that people remember Dr. King for his speech-- can you tell me what that speech was about?
My feelings are hurt a little bit-- you don't think I'm writing to you?? Big dogs have feelings too, you know. It's hard for me but I love the connections that come with blogging and commenting; don't you?
