TV or NO TV?

We are beginning a persuasive essay next week. The topic involves an idea started from tvturnoff.org. It encourages communities and families to spend one week with no TV at all! Could you do that? I love television, so it would be very hard for me. However, I think a week with no TV might be a good way to spend more quality time with my family and maybe get outside and be more active. Share your thoughts and opinions with us. I know the class will be full of strong opinions on this topic!

If I Had a Wish Giver

In class we just finished reading the book The Wish Giver. In the story, Thaddus Blinn gives 4 people a card with a red dot on it. He says they can make one wish with it. They all begin to wish for something they have always wanted. However, soon the wishes begin to backfire and trouble starts. The class really enjoyed reading this book, and we have all discussed what we might wish for if given a card with a red dot. What would you wish for? Be careful as wishes don't always come true like how you might imagine!

Falling for Fall

  Fall is one of my favorite seasons. I love the changing leaves and cooler weather. This season also gives us a chance to read and write some exciting stories. Next week we'll begin our scary stories using vivid words and details. Hopefully, they won't be too scary.....
