Podcasting

Last week, the former web logging instructor from last year came. Her name is Mrs. Anne Davis. When she came she pod casted all of us. It was a lot of fun but also embarrassing. To  listen to my pod cast, Download Graciela.mp3.

First of all, what is pod casting? Well, pod casting is when another person interviews you and records the things you said. Pod casting can be kind of hard because sometimes you could be so embarrassed that your voice totally sounds different. That is exactly what happened to me.

I would love to pod cast anybody as long as the interview is fun and exciting.  If I got the chance it would have to be The Kumbia Kings. They are great singers, they are also very famous. I even have both of their albums. First of all they come from Mexico and kind of from Texas. I would ask them so many questions. One thing I don't like is that many of them come in and many of them go out of the group. I wish I could at least get their autograph.

If I didn't get the chance to interview them, I would love to interview one of my BEST friends, her name is Maria. I know it is kind of strange to interview someone you already know, but it can still be fun because you could learn more about their life. these are the questions I would ask her.

        • What is your favorite hobby?

        • Where and when where you born?

        • Who is you favorite singer?

        • What hairstyle do you like best?

I know that pod casting is way different than interviewing, but they are similar in many ways. I prefer podcasting.

What would you prefer and why?

Who would you podcast and why?

"Ceydy's Weblog."

Today we have to write about any weblogger in Brune's class. So I picked Ceydy. Her weblog is very interesting and fun to look at. It took me quite a while to choose one of her posts. So I decided to choose her post called Ice Cream. I hope you like it. You can also see the self prtrait of herself.

"I am Ceydy
There are flavors in my freezer you have never seen before
ten divine creations
too delicious to resist,
why not do yourself a favor
try the flavors on my list:"

Would you ever post about Ice Cream and why?

   Joke of the day:

Q: How do bees brush their hair?

A:With a honey comb!

"A Day with David and April"

You may have already read my previous post. And of course it was all about idioms. This week we got to pick our own topic. But the hard part is that we have to write our story with as many idioms as possible.

What would you do if there was no school for a day and you and your sister had to baby-sit two babies less than two years of age? Well of course you would go crazy. Just like my sister.

Now you will see how rough it can be to take care of two babies. But it can also be fun.

On January 16, 2006, on a Monday, we had no school that day. And since my sister has been babysitting {so have I} she and our family have been trying our best to save money for our trip in to weeks. Well I guess we should get back to babysitting. Everybody knows babysitting is hard work. But at the same time it can be a lot of fun.

On my day off from school, my aunt came with David at 6:30 a.m. Of course I was half awake, half asleep. And he was in a very deep sleep. At about 6:50 a.m. he woke up crying. So I came and hugged him.

Around 7:00 a.m. he begged me to take him into the living room to watch Barney. Believe me I was about to hit the roof. I had to lend an ear to him

Later on that day I played hide and seek with him, we also went outside on the swings, once in a while.

Then at 2:20 p.m. my baby cousin April, came. Every time they see each other they start smiling. It was much more fun when the three of us were together. We had a lot of fun. It was as easy as pie taking care of them.

When their parents came for them they said good bye and off they went. I sure was ready for another day with them!

What would you do if you had to baby-sit a baby or babies by yourself or with an other person?

"A Delightful Comment"

I just love getting comments from my best friends to people in an other country. Each and every comment is important to me.  And very valuable. I especially like the ones my friends make.

One comment I totally adore is the one of my best friend made. The comment is special because she didn't just give me a sentence but a whole paragraph! Her comment let me come up close to what she really thinks. I wish many other people could make comments like her. The part I like the most about her comment is this part:

"I do imagine how the party was. My sister is all most going to be fifteen and we are also going to make her sweet 15. She is going to be fifteen this year, maybe in December 22. And we are going to make her party 3days after her birthday. And we are going to make it in

Mexico

. I can't wait for her party."

You can finish reading her comment if you want to read it. Just click here "My Sister's Sweet 15".

If you had a web log what kind of comments would you like best and why? What kind of people would you like to be commented by?

"Idioms Everywhere!"

Today was different; we got to do an extremely different post. You will see many sentences with an idiom. These idioms are very fun to read. If you have never learned about idioms, then this is your chance to read them.

1. My sister was as mad as a wet hen when I spilled juice for the third time that day.

2. Out of the clear blue sky my sister gave me two bowls of ice cream.

3. We were very sad when we lost our money but when I opened a bag the money was right there; it was like pulling a rabbit out of a hat.

4. When we went to the park my brother told me to break a leg.

5. I was born with a silver spoon in my mouth, that why my family and I have a lot of stuff.

6. When I went with my sister and her friend to the mall she told me to bug off.

7. After two long days on the road trip, my sister told me to button my lips.

8. When I told my sister that she was not going to get $150, she actually did get the money, so I ate my words.

9. I did not believe a word she said; she was full of hot air.

10. When I came home my brother told me that my sister had gone bananas.

Try this: For just a day try to come up with as many idioms you want. You'll never know if you can discover a new way of making idioms fun.

Which idiom was your favorite, why? Can you make new ones your self?

"Cheetah Girls Hit the Road"

Everybody enjoys seeing, hearing or reading interviews. Each and every interview is special in every way. But it is even more exciting when the reporter interviews a celebrity or celebrities. Of course I think every one likes the "The Cheetah Girls" . If you enjoy their singing, you could read the interview. Just click where it says "The Cheetah Girls" .

I think interviewing people is fun, all though I've never interviewed any one. If I got the chance to interview someone it would have to be R.B.D. The reason I would choose to interview  that band it is because they sing so good. They even have their own soap opera. I watch it every day.

If I got the chance to interview them the questions I would ask them are:

  • What are your favorite colors?
  • Who are your role models?
  • Where and when were you born?
  • Do you like acting or singing better?

Who would you interview and why? What questions would you ask the person or people?

"A Delicious Story"{part two}

Last week I didn't get to finish my post. And I know many people want to finish reading it. This part is packed with extra fun, sweets, and words that will be extra delicious. I hope you enjoy Part Two of the yummiest story you have ever read.

                                              Part Two

But something that really caught my attention was that our brick stairs were actually crushed together cinnamon apple candy. At first I thought it was a dream but now I knew it was going to be fun. My sister told me that it was time to go in. At last we fell asleep.

The next morning,my sister woke me up and told me that it was time to get ready for school. I was so excited about how my school was going to look like. When I finished getting ready. I quickly peeked out the door and the buses looked amazing! The wheels and tires were Orel cookies, and the rest of the bus was hard lemon scented flavored candy, that couldn't be eaten. The same for the houses and trees.

When I got on the bus all the other children were also smiling and excited. When  we finally got to school it was huge and yummy looking. Of course the whole bus started to say "OOH" "Ahh." The school was also crushed together cinnamon apple bricks, like our stairs. And the trees were large ice cream cones!

When we went inside the school, the large white bricks were actually vanilla! And the water fountains had five fountains in a row. You could choose from hot chocolate with marshmallows, water sprinkles, soda, or jelly beans. The classrooms were even better, the seats were cotton candy.

All day I thought about the delicious sweets. I just wondered how the Statue of Liberty and how the Eiffel Tower looked like. How I would love to talk more about how delicious the world looked. It can be even  better it you imagine it in another way.

What did you think about part one and part two of the story? What part did you like better?

"A Delicious Story"

What would you do if you woke up one morning and found out that the world was made of candy? Of course, you would be shocked but excited. If you are a person who loves candy and sweets you'll love my story even better!

As I woke up one morning, I saw that my blanket was made of hardened, unmeltable, chocolate, with tiny rainbow sprinkles! Then I got up and saw that my pillow was a marshmallow. I was so confused. So I went running to my sister, she to was awake, I asked her what was going on, she didn't know either. Then we both looked out the window, We sure were shocked about what we saw next, The trees were made of chocolate and cotton candy, the grass was mint and the flowers were lollipops, and the dark clouds were also cotton candy. Then we looked below are feet and we know longer had the hard, old carpet, but now the carpet was candies glued together. My sister told me to calm down, so I did. "What are we going to do?" I asked my sister. "Well, we can eat our pillows." she replied."That is not exactly the kind of answer I wanted, lets go check outside and check it out.

While we were outside, I couldn't really see that good because it was like at midnight.

To be continued...

History of Cats

What is a small cat?

Thirty-six species of cats live in various places around the world. Twenty-nine of these species are known as "small" cats. The remaining seven species of the cat family include the five "big" cats-the Lion, Tiger, Leopard, Jaguar, and Snow Leopard-and two that fit in neither category-the Clouded Leopard and Cheetah.

Scientists disagree about how many types of cats currently inhabit the Earth. They also disagree on how all these species of cats are related to each other.

The use of the term small when referring to the small cats can sometimes be confusing. It is true that most of the smaller cats belong to this family. However, the largest small cat, the puma is bigger then the than the smallest big cat, the snow leopard.

Types of Small Cats

The small cat family is includes the powerful puma, the tiny black footed cat, the beautifully spotted ocelot, the plain colored desert lynx, the long-legged serval, and the long-bodied jaguarundi, Several small cats, such as the South American Mountain Cat and the Red or Borneo cat, have never been captured for study. Therefore, scientists are not sure what they're like. We know of their existence from a few pelts and skeletons and eyewitness details told by native people.

More information is available about some of the other small cats. For example, we know know quite a bit about the African Serval, since servals have not been succesfully raised in zoos for many years. The same is true for the Lynx and studies have also been made of the lynx in the world. Precise information has been gathered through the use of small radio transmitters attached to the animals.

The house cat is the small cat most widely studied. People everywhere are familiar with the image of a cat waiting patiently for hours outside a mouse hole. Almost everyone has stroked the fur of a happily purring cat one time or another.

The house cat is in many ways representative of all small cats. Other small cats behave much like, whether they are Sand Cats in the desert, Palla's Cats on the plains, or Leopard Cats in the forest. Ther are more than thirty breeds of house cats, these breeds are generally classified as either long-haired or short-haired. Short haired cats include Tabbies, Black Cats, and Russian Blue or Maltese Cats, to name just a few. Two of the cats in the long-haired group are the Persian and the Angora.

The house cat is affectionate, but reserved. It is also very intelligent and has an excellent memory. and in general, a cat is more independent than a dog. It has a strong homing instinct and good grooming habits.

Origins of the House Cat

House cats are descended from North African wild cat the Nubian Dun Cat. About four thousand years ago in Egypt, some of these cats befriended people. Stories say these wild cats could not resist the fat mice that ate the Egyptians stored grain. The Ancient Egyptians greatly admired these wild cats and proclaimed them sacred animals. Anyone who killed a cat was severely punished. When a cat died, their owners would cut off alll of his or her own hair as a sign of mourning. Animals that died were often buried in valuable wooden coffins. Some were even entombed in elaborate mummy cases. Mummified mice were also buried with these cats to provide food on the journey after death.

In time, the domesticated dun cats spread all over along the great trade routes frome the Middle East to China and Southern Europe. Two thousand years ago, they had already become beloved house pets to the Romans. Later the cats made their way across the Alps into central Europe, they successfully interbred with the wild cats that lived there. Many of today's farm cats look more like the European Wild Cats than the Nubian Dun Cats from North Africa.

A Minimum Change

House catshave changed very little since they began living with humans. In fact, it would still be very easy for these domesticated cats to return to the wild and their original ways of life if humans suddenly stopped caring for them. House cats have never become completely dependent upon people. They remain the same self-sufficient, independent and puzzling animals they have always been.

How Cats Communicate

Cats can not actually speak as humans do, but the house cat commands an incredibly rich language of its own. It has more than fifty different sounds available to express its every mood and impulse. These sounds include the meoww in all its variations. But cats can also make cooing, rasping, and cackling sounds; they can hiss, growl, screech, snarl, howl, and much more. Last but not least, house cats make an uninterrupted humming sound, called purring. Only small cats purr-the big cats can not.

Purring is the expression of a cat's feeling or contentment or well being. Every sound a cat makes has its own meaning, so an attentive cat owner is sometimes able to delightfully converse with his or her own cat.

Me-yoww! the Cat Fanciers' Association keeps track of purebred cats in the U.S. Last year it counted 61,151 of these fancy kitties. Out of thirty-seven breeds, these are the five top cats!

1. Persian

35,490 cats registered

2. Maine Coon

4,756 cats

3. Siamese

2,492 cats

4. Exotic {Shorthair}

2,165 cats

5. Abyssinian

2,012 cats

1.Which cat do you like better?

2.Do you have any cats?

3.Do you think I provided enough information and details?

4.If you don't have a cat, what kind would you like?

Try this!

Imagine you are a cat, and you get to decide what kind of cat you can be, and whether you want to be a short-haired cat or a long-haired cat. You could imagine more stuff like pretending to be a news reporter with the news or an artist with creativity. Your imagination can lead to a great destination!

"New Year, New Goals'"

Each year starts out brand new. And each person has new goals to reach. Some people choose to do their best in school, work, and at home.

I want to be a better friend to all the friends I have. I've also learned that sometimes when friends feel sad or depressed you have to let them be alone for a while. And if I feel like that, my friends never leave my side. That is why this is one of the goals I want to reach, I know I will be a better friend.

Another goal I want to reach is to be better at math, I'm pretty good at all the other subjects but not excellent, and nobody is perfect at everything! If I don't pass, I may not be able to go to sixth grade. I don't want that. I want to graduate from Elementary, Middle School, and High School, probably College. Another reason I want to be netter in math is because, I'll never know if someday I would have to use the thermometer to check what temperature it is. That is why I really wish I would pass math.

One of my greatest goals is to save enough money for animals, humans, and rain forests. Humans and animals both need food, water, and shelter. And rain forests are being cut down for important nutrients needed to supply many countries. But I hope someday just someday someone would have the generosity to help humans, animals and rain forests in need.

My greatest goal to reach this year is to pack my weblog with important details needed to make the post very interesting. One way that helps me make my post interesting is by imagining that if you are going to buy an outfit to wear for a best dressed competition you need to have details which are the accessories, shoes, makeup, hair due, clothes and color of nail polish for the nails. That's the way I imagine it.

There are many goals to choose from but I chose these because they are the ones that mean most to me.

Do you have any goals you would like to achieve this year? What are they and why do you choose those?
