What is Ice Cream?

   Everybody loves Ice cream. Especially me. There are so many flavors in the world. Some are gross and some are so delicious! My favorite flavor of ice cream flavors are Cookies and Cream and Mint Chocolate Chip. For those who don't know how they are, this is you r chance  for me to tell you. Cookies and cream is just vanilla ice cream with Oreo cookies. And mint chocolate chip is green with dark thick pieces of mint.    If you keep on reading you will read how the  word ' ice cream ' got its name.

   Since Americans eat about 15 quarts of ice cream per ca pita a year. It is appropriate that the first recorded instance of the world (1744) occurs in the writings of an American, who mentions "fine ice cream... with...strawberries and milk." The history of  ice cream itself can be traced much further back, to the Roman Empire, China, and India. Ice cream was introduced to England in  the 17Th century and to America in the 18Th century. It seems to have been called ' iced cream' at first (1673) in line with such expressions as iced tea, and iced coffee, which we still use. But the form ice cream has taken over.

1559: Ice Cream appears in Italy as ice and salt, are discovered to make a freezing combination.

1782: Ice Cream is served at a Philadelphia party given by the French envoy to honor the new american republic.

1846: A portable hand cranked ice cream freezer is invented by Nanxcy Johnson in New Jersey.

Podcasting

 

   Last week, the former web logging instructor from last year came. Her name is Mrs. Anne Davis. When she came she pod casted all of us. It was a lot of fun but also embarrassing. To  listen to my pod cast, Download Graciela.mp3.

   First of all, what is pod casting? Well, pod casting is when another person interviews you and records the things you said. Pod casting can be kind of hard because sometimes you could be so embarrassed that your voice totally sounds different. That is exactly what happened to me.

   I would love to pod cast anybody as long as the interview is fun and exciting.  If I got the chance it would have to be The Kumbia Kings. They are great singers, they are also very famous. I even have both of their albums. First of all they come from Mexico and kind of from Texas. I would ask them so many questions. One thing I don't like is that many of them come in and many of them go out of the group. I wish I could at least get their autograph.

   If I didn't get the chance to interview them, I would love to interview one of my BEST friends, her name is Maria. I know it is kind of strange to interview someone you already know, but it can still be fun because you could learn more about their life. these are the questions I would ask her.

  I know that pod casting is way different than interviewing, but they are similar in many ways. I prefer podcasting.

  Today we have to write about any weblogger in Brune's class. So I picked Ceydy. Her weblog is very interesting and fun to look at. It took me quite a while to choose one of her posts. "A Day with David and April"

 

You may have already read my previous post. And of course it was all about idioms. This week we got to pick our own topic. But the hard part is that we have to write our story with as many idioms as possible.

   What would you do if there was no school for a day and you and your sister had to baby-sit two babies less than two years of age? Well of course you would go crazy. Just like my sister.

   Now you will see how rough it can be to take care of two babies. But it can also be fun.

  On January 16, 2006, on a Monday, we had no school that day. And since my sister has been babysitting {so have I} she and our family have been trying our best to save money for our trip in to weeks. Well I guess we should get back to babysitting. Everybody knows babysitting is hard work. But at the same time it can be a lot of fun.

   On my day off from school, my aunt came with David at 6:30 a.m. Of course I was half awake, half asleep. And he was in a very deep sleep. At about 6:50 a.m. he woke up crying. So I came and hugged him.

  Around 7:00 a.m. he begged me to take him into the living room to watch Barney. Believe me I was about to hit the roof. I had to lend an ear to him

  Later on that day I played hide and seek with him, we also went outside on the swings, once in a while.

  Then at 2:20 p.m. my baby cousin April, came. Every time they see each other they start smiling. It was much more fun when the three of us were together. We had a lot of fun. It was as easy as pie taking care of them.

  When their parents came for them they said good bye and off they went. I sure was ready for another day with them!

   What would you do if you had to baby-sit a baby or babies by yourself or with an other person?

             

"A Delightful Comment"

   I just love getting comments from my best friends to people in an other country. Each and every comment is important to me.  And very valuable. I especially like the ones my friends make.

   One comment I totally adore is the one of my best friend made. The comment is special because she didn't just give me a sentence but a whole paragraph! Her comment let me come up close to what she really thinks. I wish many other people could make comments like her. The part I like the most about her comment is this part:

   "I do imagine how the party was. My sister is all most going to be fifteen and we are also going to make her sweet 15. She is going to be fifteen this year, maybe in December 22. And we are going to make her party 3days after her birthday. And we are going to make it in

Mexico

. I can't wait for her party."

"Idioms Everywhere!"

   Today was different; we got to do an extremely different post. You will see many sentences with an idiom. These idioms are very fun to read. If you have never learned about idioms, then this is your chance to read them.
