Writing summaries can be hard sometimes, and it is definately something we will continue to practice. When you summarize, remember to include enough details so that your reader understands what the article is about. And you should always put your summaries in your very own words.
Terion did a great job introducing his post by explaining the assignment to his readers. His audience would have been very confused if he just started writing a post on Some Scientists. Since he explained his post was about an article he read in Time for Kids, we knew exactly what he was writing about. Terion even remembered to end his post with a thought-provoking question. Good job Terion!
And check out Desiree's post on Tough Lessons! Her summarizing statements provide excellent details. I can hear her voice coming through as she summarized in her own words. I know her readers will definately want to read that article for themselves.
Today in Eagle Club, finish your summarizing post. After you have published your post, then finish any other drafts you have started. Once all of your drafts are published, you may go to Harcourt Math and complete your assignments.
