I read an article about Martin Luther King Jr. and it said that people had paused to remember a moment of one of there civil rights leaders. In 1950, he was one of the most respected people from the civil rights leaders. He inspired the world and helped bring laws that were fair and equally for all of the Americans.
All across the world people will remember Dr.King's efforts and honor his legacy. Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New york will observe the 11 Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. In Oklahoma, California there will be a lot of great things happening like celebrations and dancing.
On March 7, 1965 hundreds of civil rights supporters led by Martin did a 54-mile walk from Selma to Montgomery,Alabama. They were protesting for laws that prevented African Americans from voting in Alabama. The supporters were stopped and attacked by police shortly after starting. On March 25,30,000 protesters from all over the country tried again and they completed the march. There efforts helped pass the 1965 Voting Rights Act.
I think that Martin had an interesting life because he was a nice man and he wanted all the black, white, and Mexicans to all get along. I heard this on CNN and I saw this in the time for kids. So I do think that he had an interesting life.
Do you think that Martin Luther King Jr. had an interesting life?
