What's in a Name

Vanity_mirror

Why is our class blog called 5th Grade Reflections? I am glad you asked! Well, of course, part of it is easy--we are 5th graders. But the reflection part is a longer story. As we grow as students, reflecting on our learning is essential. We want to think deeply about what we are learning, why it is important, and how it is helping us in our real life (our life away from school). Look for ways we are being reflective in our posts this year. Also, write comments to our posts and ask us questions to support good, reflective thinking.

I am the technology facilitator at an elementary school in North Carolina. I happened by this blog and I am really impressed! I was wondering if I could know what blog service you used and if it is something that other schools can employ.

Thanks!

I absolutely love what you have done with your class! I want to do something similar with mine next year. Was there any resistance from parents? How long did it take for the students to get into the groove of the process? Were these blogs graded or were they just for fun? I would love to get some feedback from you - Thanks in advance - Kim
