Jordan Dobson was recently awarded by the Online Math League. Jordan placed 4th in a national competition out of 2,249 other students. This contest was given to different students all across the United States to test their ability to work out challenging problems. You can see Jordan here proudly holding his trophy! Have any of you noticed a new person walking around with my class?? I bet you have! His name is Mr. Harris and he is a student teacher from Morehouse College in Atlanta. Mr. Harris is originally from New York! He traveled all the way from New York City to Georgia to come to college. He has completed his courses in school and is now observing and participating in the teaching in our classroom. It is really nice for me to have an extra set of hands helping with the classroom instruction. So feel free to stop by and meet Mr. Harris, I know he would love to meet you!
We certainly have had an eventful year! I cannot believe that the year is halfway over. I have decided to begin a weblog to add a little excitement to the rest of the school year. Weblogging is a new way to use technology to highlight student achievement, showcase student work, and offer a way to communicate with teachers, parents, and students. Each month I will be focusing on recent events and events of pride that take place within our school. I cannot wait to hear your comments. Let's start blogging!
