2005-2006 Teacher of the Year

Hh_3 Congratulations to Mrs. Dugas who was recently named JHH Teacher of the Year!  The faculty celebrated the announcement with cake and thoughtful words.  Read some of the reasons why Mrs. Dugas was selected by her colleagues:

Mrs. Dugas shows a passion for her work.  She is extremely competent.  Her expertise of the Kindergarten curriculum is phenemoenal.  She has a marvelous ability to diagnose a student's ability or need and fulfill that demand with her keen wisdom.  She is more than willing to share her ideas with her colleagues.  I have been the beneficiary of her generous nature and appreciate how she so willingly helped me with my questions.  Her technological skills are outstanding as well.  J.H. House has been fortunate to have had Mrs. Dugas with us these past eight years.

She takes all children where they are academically and emotionally and moves them beyond expectations. Her classes are extremely well-ran, happy, and full of learning.

Mrs. Dugas goes above and beyond always.  She is talented, dedicated, and puts in all the extra hours to help her class succeed and rise to be the very best.

She continually looks to challenge her students.  She uses every bit of time with them, working with them.  She brings in extra books and materials to do her job.  She maintains high standards for herself and her students.  She is a pillar for the grade level.

Help me in congratulating our very deserving Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Dugas!

Calling All Scouts!

Boy_scouts Do you like to fish?  Do you like to build cars?  Do you like to camp?  Do you like to hike?  If you do, then you should consider becoming a boy scout!  It definately sounds like a lot of fun!  Why would you like to become a scout?  If you are already one, tell us some reasons why others should join!

Captain Cook

Hh_2On Friday morning, our Pre-K students at JHH had a wonderful visitor.  Captain Katie Cook came to talk and entertain the children about true treasures, such as family, friends, school, the world, and being kind to animals.  The students heard amazing stories and participated in fun songs and activities. Have you had any visitors at school that you will never forget?  If so, what did you learn from your visitors?

JHH Pals

Hh_1 Mrs. Halloran spent the morning training our 2005-06 Pals.  Everyone was excited to start a new year and meet their new pals.  JHH is lucky to have a great counselor support such a wonderful program and an exceptional group of Pal volunteers who give their time and love to our students.  If you have been part of the PAL program, tell us about how much your pal means to you!

Chick-fil-A Night

Emc_cow Congratulations to Ms. Rikard's third grade class for having the highest attendance on our Chick-fil-A night!  Ms. Rikard received $50 to spend in her classroom and her students received a free Chick-fil-A dinner!  In addition, JHH earned $200!  Thank you Chick-fil-A for supporting our school!  Who will be the winners next month?

Where is the Gingerbread Man?

Gingerbreadman Well, the first week of school was an exciting time for us at JHH!  We got to see each other after an eight week summer break.  Some of you have grown a foot taller!  And to our new kindergarteners, did you ever find the missing Gingerbread Man?  There were clues all over the building, but I never saw him!
